Pirate: When I Become Kuina

Chapter 23: Argument

Ace looked like a thief, sneaking up on the wall to peek.

In the distance, a little girl was walking down the street in despair.

She had been walking aimlessly like this for a long time.

"Are we just going to watch like this?" Ace turned around, his face full of unbearability.

He couldn't figure out why he had to peek in secret. They were all helping anyway, so why bother?

Kuina glared at Ace and scolded: "Shut up and follow me!"

Nami walked to a dark corner, sat down and buried her head deeply in her knees, sobbing helplessly.

The feeling of despair that she once felt engulfed her mind again.

Separated by a wall, there is bright sunshine on one side and a dark corner on the other side.

Guina leaned against the wall and looked at the clear sky in the distance, silently cheering for her in her heart.

This sea does not believe in innocence.

Ace's low voice sounded next to his ears, as if he was arguing with someone.

Looking around, he saw Ace stopping a drunkard who was about to enter the alley.

Kuina opened her mouth, but the words to stop Ace from messing around were stuck in her throat.

After Ace took out a steel pipe and smashed a medium-sized stone with a stick, the drunkard changed direction and left cursing.

If Ace continues to protect him like this, then he might as well just go out together openly.

We can't let him continue to disrupt things here.

"I hope you won't take action again unless necessary."

"She is still young and I have to keep her safe."

"Once again, don't take action unless necessary!" Guina emphasized her tone, her voice unquestionable.

Ace felt Kuina's determination, which was an unparalleled determination that could not tolerate any rebuttal.

"Can you tell me the reason, Kuina?" Ace's attitude and tone became much softer.

From the anger after waking up, to the secret joy when he could follow Nami quietly, to the confusion now that he doesn't know why, Ace has long been unable to judge Kuina's true intention.

I originally thought I knew Kuina well, but in the end I found that I still knew nothing about her.

Ace wanted to know why.

Desperately want to know.

Kuina squinted at Ace.

reason?

Many pictures appeared in her mind, and the coldness on her face became much lighter without realizing it.

Suddenly, a song was hummed softly.

……

I love you walking alone in the dark alley

I love you without kneeling

love you confronted with despair

don't cry

love your tattered clothes

But dare to block the gun of fate

you will build your city

Above the ruins

Go? Go, with the humblest dream

Fight? Fight with the loneliest dream

To the whimpers and roars in the night

……

Some tunes can make people's blood boil, and some words can make people feel the same.

Ace's heartbeat was pounding so fast it seemed like it was going to explode.

"Kuina, was it Nami who sang just now?"

"No, he is a lone brave man."

"Lonely brave?"

Kuina turned her head and looked at Ace.

"I said, you are not in her story, and you are not needed."

"No, she needs me and she needs you."

Guina shook her head and objected: "She doesn't need it."

"She needs it."

Kuina repeated again: "She doesn't need it."

"why?"

“The story is better without us.”

Ace finally calmed down and muttered the lyrics that Kuina had just hummed.

He stood there for a long time, keeping company with his recognized partner from a distance.

Although Ace gradually understood Kuina's intention, he could understand it, but he did not agree with it.

Nami is so young and should not have to endure such an ordeal.

"Kuina, you once said that if you can't protect your friends, you can't become the Pirate King, right?"

Kuina frowned, looked at Ace and said, "Your persistence is beyond my imagination."

"You too."

"So, you still choose to interfere?"

Ace looked resolute and spoke with stern eyes: "I will protect my partners."

Kuina closed her eyes, pinched the bridge of her nose with her right hand and rubbed it gently.

Ace seems to be easy to talk to and seems to be able to communicate completely, but in fact he is as stubborn as a donkey.

As long as it is something he believes in, he will do his best to complete it.

It seemed that unknowingly, every confrontation between him and me basically ended with him compromising.

For example, eating barbecue.

Another example is that he went to sea with him.

Do we have to compromise again now?

It's a headache.

And it was extremely awkward for him to use what he said to educate Luffy to convince himself...how should I put it?

There is always a sense of déjà vu that I have slapped myself.

"Guina, what will it take for you to agree? As long as I can do it, I can listen to you."

"There is no room for negotiation, but since it has come to this point, I can give you a chance."

"What chance?" Ace was ecstatic.

"Beat me."

"Then give it a try?"

"You look confident."

Hiss... such a familiar conversation!

The scenes of the past seem to be right in front of you.

The Slippery Fruit's defensive power makes it impossible for Ace to break through the defense. It can be said that Ace can be manipulated at will.

It was obvious that Guina had no sincerity and she had no intention of giving in.

Ace went back and took a look at Nami. Seeing that she was still sobbing, he couldn't help but murmur softly: "Wait for me to pick you up, Nami."

Although Kuina's strength is unfathomable, her dream is to become the Pirate King.

The Pirate King who can protect all his friends!

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah." Ace held the steel pipe with great fighting spirit.

"Let's attack here."

"Stop looking down on others, Kuina. Your arrogance will make you pay the price. I'm here!"

Ace rushed forward. He knew the effect of Kuina's Devil Fruit, so he used all his strength in this attack.

There was no sound of collision, and the steel pipe slid into the air along Guina's skin. Ace pressed forward step by step without losing momentum, and the steel pipe was swung like a tiger in his hand.

The attack was very fierce, much stronger than Zoro's. There were several times when Kuina couldn't dodge and had to rely on the fruit to slide away the damage.

"Why don't you draw the knife!"

Guina is practicing killing skills, and she can't do it with a sword.

"If this is the only level you can reach, then let's stop here."

After a moment, Ace tasted what Zoro was accustomed to.

Angry, angry, but helpless.

Kuina looked at Ace panting on the ground and said calmly: "It seems that you are not capable of protecting your partner, the Pirate King."

One Piece's words almost broke Ace's defense. He lay on the ground and shouted with a grin: "If you hadn't eaten the Devil Fruit, I would definitely have a chance to beat you."

A "swish" sound came from the metal cutting, and Kuina's sword blade was already pressed against Ace's neck.

"But I ate it, and I could kill you at any time. Your excuses can't save you."

After Ace was horrified, he pushed Hedao Yiwen away and said angrily: "I will definitely defeat you."

Kuina sheathed her sword

"I am looking forward."
