Marvel's Great Old Ones

Chapter 65: Kidnapped Tony Stark

In Afghanistan, in an uninhabited mountain range, several surveillance drones roared and flew into the sky driven by propellers.

Below is a temporary camp, with a group of soldiers running around, installing various monitoring equipment in place under the command of a military researcher.

This time the weapons monitoring data is related to an arms transaction contract worth tens of billions of dollars. There is no room for sloppiness. The military must obtain the actual measurement data of the Jericho missile provided by the Stark Group.

"Sir, all the monitoring instruments have been installed and can start monitoring at any time!" A captain trotted into the tent in the center of the camp.

"Why is it so slow?" Tony raised his hand and looked at the time. It took those guys nearly an hour to completely arrange the backward monitoring equipment.

He didn't think that the Jericho missile he developed needed any testing. It would definitely become a dominant player on the battlefield.

The brigadier general who was accompanying him saw Tony's appearance, smiled a little, and led a group of people outside the venue, preparing to officially start the weapons test.

"Gentlemen, what you are seeing now is the new generation of battlefield masters of the Stark Group. I believe that it can make greater contributions to the United States and world peace, just like the Stark Group, for construction A better world, now let us witness the glory of Jericho.".7

Even in the military camp, Tony Stark still looked carefree. However, when introducing the Jericho missile, his face was unusually serious.

Pressing the launch switch, the missile ejected with a huge sound of breaking through the air, shooting towards the marked mountains in the distance.

In the air, the missile's external body exploded, and bullets separated from the mother bomb and were shot out, hitting the target accurately.

Tony opened his hand and turned around, looking at the horrified military personnel with satisfaction.

The strong wind that swept over him was unexpectedly strong, causing him to stagger and blowing the hats of several generals into the air.

A group of military researchers are busy collecting and processing the received data, and the officers and generals have to deal with some issues about the quotation and conditions here.

"Looks like there's nothing going on without me?" Tony looked around at the busy people, found the person in charge of the scene, and planned to leave first.

"I've had enough of this damn place. It's noisy, has strong ultraviolet rays, is windy and sandy, and the most important thing is that it's full of muscular guys covered in sweat."

The military arranged for a small team to escort Stark back to the base, the only place nearby that met the conditions for the aircraft to take off and land.

"You know? I attended the award ceremony in Las Vegas the night before yesterday. Those old guys from the Department of Defense presented me with the Extreme Award, saying it was to reward me for my great contribution to defending American interests and global peace. ."

Several soldiers riding in the same car with Tony looked a little nervous and had serious expressions, and suddenly they heard Tony Stark's chirping words.

Seeing those people slowly being attracted by his words, Tony's face remained calm. Who am I, the genius inventor Tony Stark? How can a place with me be so quiet?

He began to brag about his exploits to those people.

One of the soldiers curiously asked him about the tidbit about sleeping with the girls on the cover of Playboy magazine.

"Oh, boy, there are ladies here," Tony pointed at the female soldier who was driving, curled his lips, and suddenly said: "There is no lady on the cover of one month, but there is a pair of twins. I think they are twelve months old. Twelve ladies, maybe.”

After staying in the army for such a long time, especially in Afghanistan, a remote place with few human traces, those soldiers are always keen on these colorful topics.

Although the female soldier driving in front was noncommittal about the dirty jokes, she was also very curious about the lives of upper-class people like Tony Stark.

The atmosphere in the car became lively. The soldiers could not keep their serious faces and looked at this legendary figure curiously.

boom!

There was a violent explosion, and a jeep in the center of the convoy turned into a fireball.

"Enemy attack!" A shrill cry sounded outside, and soldiers quickly ran out of the car, looking for bunkers and enemies.

"Oh, Shet, what's going on!" Stark sat in a panic and wanted to ask about the situation outside.

"Stop the car, the left side is under attack!" Several soldiers in the car opened the doors and got out to prepare for support.

Stark was at a loss as he sat in the car. He was just a scientific researcher, and it was okay for him to do scientific research. But now it was a battlefield, and he had some skills.

shhhhhh!

Sharp gunshots reverberated on the field, and there were enemies everywhere. The enemy's firepower was very fierce. The soldiers of the entire team could only support themselves hard, hoping that the base would receive the news as soon as possible to initiate support.

"Shet!" Stark, who was in the car, saw the soldier who had just asked him the question get off the car on the left side, and was beaten into a sieve in the blink of an eye.

Transparent holes were punched out of the jeep's iron sheet. He lowered his body as hard as he could, got out of the car and hid behind a huge rock.

The gunshots were deafening, and the soldiers shouted loudly, as if they were surrounded by enemies who didn't know where they came from.

Stark didn't dare to look up for fear of being taken away by a stray bullet.

A dull sound suddenly came from his side. Tony looked up and saw the Stark icon on the bomb.

"Oh Richette!"

The bomb exploded instantly, and Tony was blown away and fell to the ground.

He tried his best to resist the buzzing in his mind, and a sharp pain came from his chest. He struggled to pull open the shirt that was bleeding from his chest. Although the body armor he wore prevented him from being killed by the shock wave, those A single piece of shrapnel had penetrated directly into the body armor.

The dizzy feeling was like a tsunami sweeping over him, and Tony finally couldn't hold on anymore and passed out.

……

In May 2008, a piece of news swept the headlines across New York and around the world.

The largest arms dealer in the United States and the leader of the Stark Group, the genius Tony Stark was attacked by unknown armed forces while testing new weapons in Afghanistan. His life and death are unknown. No armed force or terrorist organization has yet come forward. Acknowledge the incident.

This news directly detonated the entire stock market. Stark Group's stock fell to the limit instantly. The value of the stock fell like a tsunami. All major investors were dumping their stocks.

The military was also panicked, because Stark accepted the test invitation to go to Afghanistan in order to show the military the latest Jericho missile. The military also provided armed protection on the way. Now that something happened to Tony Stark, the military needed Take the greatest responsibility.

But the people in the military are also crying. Who would have thought that there would be forces in Afghanistan that would dare to challenge the majesty of the US military.

Originally, a fully prepared gauntlet team was enough to deal with any problem, but the incoming enemies were too elite and had too advanced weapons to stop them.

According to the weapons remnants collected at the scene, those terrorists even possessed a large number of advanced weapons from the Stark Group, which were more sophisticated than the weapons of the team responsible for protecting Tony Stark.

No Tony Stark's body was found at the scene, indicating that he was most likely still alive, but had been abducted by those people and taken to another place.

The military sent many forces to search around the attack site, but the test site was close to the desolate desert of Afghanistan. Finding a person in such a large area was undoubtedly like looking for a needle in a haystack, and there were no discoveries or clues at all.

……

Tony opened his eyes drowsily, and there were blurry shadows everywhere in front of him. The continuous dizziness felt like waves shattering all his thoughts.

This place should be underground. The light was dim and he couldn't see clearly. There was still severe pain in his chest. Along with his breathing and heartbeat, he felt that his life was draining away at a rapid speed.

A group of armed men and a guy in a white coat walked in. He seemed to be a doctor?

A cold feeling came from the place touched by the other person. Before he could react, Stark fainted again...

When he opened his eyes again and woke up, he was surrounded by a group of people wearing shabby military uniforms and holding weapons. Someone in front was filming with a camera.

Stark was like a dead body being tossed back and forth by those people, and his ears were full of unintelligible gibbering dialects.

It was a long time. I don't know how much time passed. Tony's face was bloodless and his body was weak, and he passed out again.

What awaits him next will be the forging of blood and fire...
