[HP] Being a problem student at Hogwarts
Chapter 13 The necessary floating spell for adventure
It was dark in the library, and you could only hear vague whispers with unclear meanings, and the rustling sound of something unknown, but once you listened carefully, you couldn't hear anything. They lit their wands, carefully illuminating only a small area in front of them. The area still shrouded in darkness seemed to have countless pairs of hidden eyes staring at them.
"I never thought the library could be so scary at night!" she whispered.
The restricted [book] area is at the back of the library. They carefully stepped over the rope that separated the books from the collection, raised their wands, and scanned the titles.
But the titles of these books are obviously still too profound for them. Most of them are proper nouns in the magical world. They look no different from coined words. They can only guess the general meaning. The gilded letters on the spines of some books have faded and peeled off, and some have no titles at all, only a complicated and unspeakable twisted pattern drawn crookedly. One more look at it will make you feel dizzy and vomit. come out. There is also a dark stain in the shape of a large palm on the book, which looks like a blood stain. On the finger part, fingerprints can even be clearly seen, as if the book was torn out from the hand of a deceased person.
"The forbidden [book] area seems to be scarier." Tom felt the cold air on the back of his neck and whispered to Hermione, "We have to find one that is safer."
They changed several rows of bookshelves and stayed away from magic books that didn't look right. Finally, they found a row of old bookshelves that were much more peaceful. The books were sitting quietly on the bookshelves. There were no strange and vague whispers, no blood stains, and no strange and complex patterns that made people sick. There is no slippery or sticky feeling when you touch it... In short, they are just ordinary magic books that look very old.
"I think we've found the right place." Hermione's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Look," she read, pointing to a book, "A History of Magic, Volume 1, Fourth Edition."
"This is probably a textbook from a long time ago that was eliminated because it was not suitable for the current era." Hermione said happily, "But for us, it might be just right."
"At least it's much safer," Tom added.
They happily picked it up on the bookshelf, occasionally taking out a book and flipping through it quickly to see if the content inside was what they wanted.
Tom saw a book with an all-black cover at the bottom of the bookshelf, covered in dust. He pulled it out and patted it, revealing the silver letters: "A Preliminary Solution to Magic."
Before he could open it, he heard heavy breathing and Hermione's scream from beside him.
Tom turned around and saw that there was a big open book floating in front of Hermione. The big book was getting bigger and bigger, and the pages inside were twisted and tangled, forming a huge mouth, and its material was also... Becoming more and more like flesh, a bright red tongue that was slippery, sticky, and covered with barbs slipped out from the corner of the mouth and stretched out towards Hermione.
Tom reflexively threw the book at the monster, hitting its cover.
The mouth suffered this blow, tilted a bit, closed the mouth, and bit his tongue. The next moment it reopened and let out a "hissing" cry of pain. The sound wave seemed to have a strange power, making it Tom and Hermione were both dizzy and nauseous.
Tom gritted his teeth and rushed forward, using his own weight to press the strange book with its cover facing up. Then he picked up the "First Answer to Magic" that had fallen aside and hit it hard.
The strange book looked ferocious and disgusting, but he couldn't help but beat him. After Tom hit it a few times, its voice weakened, its size became smaller and smaller, and its struggle became weaker.
"Let's go quickly." Hermione said with a tearful voice, "Listen!"
You don't have to listen carefully, the footsteps running in the corridor are already very clear, not to mention Filch's angry shout: "Who is there!"
Tom hurriedly climbed up, grabbing the book "First Introduction to Magic", quickly extinguishing the light of his wand, and followed Hermione quickly through the bookshelves.
They slipped behind Filch and ran away, their hands so sweaty that they could hardly hold their wands.
Before they had time to rejoice, Peeves wandered through the wall and bumped into them.
"Aha, what did I discover!" it exclaimed happily, "Naughty new students, wandering around in the middle of the night, tut, tut, tut, naughty, naughty, you will be arrested."
Hermione wailed and turned to look at Tom, as if expecting him to have friendship with Peeves.
"Don't panic." Tom didn't know whether he was trying to persuade Hermione or himself, "Peeves doesn't have the authority to manage the school, so we just need to run faster than Filch."
This made Peeves very unhappy.
"F-er-qi!" it screamed, "Students don't sleep! They're wandering around in the corridors!"
"Run!" Hermione pulled Tom and ran forward mindlessly, while Peeves followed behind and kept screaming to announce their location. For this reason, they had to turn frequently in order to get rid of Peeves and Filch who heard the sound.
When they finally got rid of Peeves, they had reached the end of a corridor, and the door at the end was locked.
"Open the Alaho!" Hermione tapped the door lock roughly with her wand, pushed the door open, and pulled Tom in.
"Then where should we run..." Tom asked with a wry smile.
"As long as you don't get caught, you don't get caught." Hermione held her wand against the door and said, "I would rather knock Filch out before he can see his face than get expelled!"
"I think we can wait a while before considering expulsion." Tom swallowed and grasped the wand tightly. "At least until we survive."
Hermione followed his gaze in confusion and froze.
A huge, strange dog that almost filled the entire room, with three heads, three pairs of vicious eyes, three noses twitching at them and taking deep breaths, and three mouths dripping with sticky saliva.
"Tom, Tom," Hermione said tremblingly, "do you think the armor will work?"
"Maybe he thinks it tastes crispier that way. Why is there a damn three-headed hell dog here?!"
"This is the forbidden corridor." Hermione actually had the extra attention to pay attention to the sounds outside, "It seems Filch has left. Let's leave quickly."
Unfortunately, the three-headed dog didn't want to let them go.
It suddenly let out a deafening roar - the sound of three heads at the same time made the sound more three-dimensional and surround, making people dizzy.
Think of a way, think of a way... The three-headed hell dog's magic resistance is amazing, and it is definitely not something that the two young wizards who have just entered school can handle. Hermione cried and fumbled for the door handle, but it took space to open the door and time to slip out, and the dog was too close to them. He never wanted to leave any part of his body to the dog.
Tom suddenly noticed that the three-headed dog was chained in the room. Without thinking, he stretched out his wand and pointed at the chain: "Yuga-Dim Leviosa!"
The chain suddenly rose up, and the three-headed dog was inevitably pushed back by the collar. Tom and Hermione took this opportunity to rush out of the room, slammed the door, and then ran all the way back to Gryffindor Tower.
"There will be no next time." Hermione choked with sobs as she collapsed on the soft sofa in the common room. "It was terrible. We almost got caught!"
"You were almost eaten by a book, and we were almost bitten to death by a dog, but what you care about is that we were almost caught?" Tom couldn't laugh or cry.
"Come on, going to the forbidden [book] area and then going to the forbidden corridor, is this the same as being caught for ordinary night walks? We might be expelled!" Hermione retorted angrily, "I want to Go take a shower again, those sticky saliva..." She said in a disgusted tone, then stood up and went back to the girls' dormitory.
Tom watched her disappear up the spiral staircase and stood up, planning to go back to the dormitory to wash up. Something fell out of his arms and landed on the ground with a thud.
Tom looked down and realized that he had taken the "First Answer to Magic" he found from the forbidden area with him all the way away.
