From Gods to Marvel

Chapter 35 Sun Divine Power

Shadow only drank one cup of mead, but according to ancient rules, he had to drink three cups for the contract to take effect.

Knowing this on Wednesday, any of his plans can be disrupted, but he must get his biological son back.

Thor is completely dead, Vidal has turned to the New Gods, and the only thing he can trust and rely on is his shadow.

Shadow had just returned from the cemetery, where he witnessed his wife being buried in the dirt.

"Only wine can heal the pain. Maybe you should have a few more."

Wednesday's eyelids drooped, and he looked a little sad.

"That's not a good idea."

Shadow smiled reluctantly. When he learned the truth, his sadness did not dissipate, but became more intense.

No matter what Laura did, she is dead, and even Robbie is dead, and now he has no relatives in his world.

"If I were you, I would go for a drink... You have been in jail for too long and have become a softie - women are not the only ones in a man's world."

Sweeney rolled down the window, playfully defiant.

"Leprechaun, you should understand that Shadow has just experienced the pain of losing his wife, and we need to be more tolerant to him."

Wednesday patted Shadow on the back, he opened the car door and said while turning on the ignition.

"If you want to have a drinking contest, I don't mind accompanying you to the end."

Shadow forced a smile on his face, he looked at the leprechaun and said this.

A black Cadillac drives on the road.

"I have a question."

Shadow was sitting in the passenger seat. He looked at the end of the road. The sun was setting, and the afterglow of the setting sun was like a flame, igniting the whole world.

"With all due respect, Mr. Wednesday is the boss, why does he always drive himself?"

"That's a good point, man."

Sweeney held the rye beer bottle and put his hand on the car window.

"The old guy loves this car as much as you love your late wife..."

"I remember there was a barrel of mead in the trunk, so I'll remember to take it with me later."

Zhou stopped Sweeney just in time to finish his sentence.

Shadow knew what Sweeney wanted to say. He could feel the hostility of the leprechaun towards him. This hostility was not a hatred of life and death, but more like a test.

It was precisely because he understood this that he did not get angry, otherwise he would have punched and kicked the leprechaun as soon as he left the cemetery.

"Shadow, have you seen a bison?"

Wednesday tilted his head slightly, and he could feel that the shadow possessed two completely different powers, one derived from blood, and the other derived from the soul.

Shadow held a coin between the fingertips of his right hand. It shuttled between the fingers with extraordinary flexibility.

"Bison, what buffalo?"

The coin on Shadow's fingertips stopped for a moment. He thought no one could notice it, but he didn't know that the other two people in the car were masters of playing with coins.

"Nothing, you know, you can always see all kinds of animals here."

Wednesday quietly dropped the subject - he already knew the answer.

"Your coin trick is lame."

Sweeney was sitting in the back seat. He stretched out his right hand in front of Shadow, and a coin appeared between his thumb and index finger.

"This is not new."

Shadow smiled and took off the coin.

"I hope you're not too surprised."

A coin appeared again between Sweeney's thumb and forefinger.

Wednesday looked at the setting sun and smiled without saying a word.Shadow first took off the coin, then grabbed Sweeney's wrist and rolled up his sleeves.

"Now, continue!"

Shadow stared at Sweeney's fingers. He didn't believe that he could conjure another one now.

"You don't understand coins!"

Sweeney sneered, he turned his palm downwards, and one coin after another fell on Shadow's legs, soon covering his knees.

"Hey guys, don't break my ride."

Wednesday reminded somewhat helplessly.

"This is very interesting, can you teach me?"

Shadow turned his head and asked with a smile.

"If you can knock me down, I can teach you. Otherwise, use this as a bet..."

Sweeney snapped his fingers and all the coins in the car disappeared - a gold coin appeared on his fingertips.

"Made of pure gold, it still sounds like an antique."

Sweeney's voice lingered in Shadow's ears.

Wednesday glanced over calmly, and he clearly saw the shape of the gold coin in Sweeney's hand - round, with a pocket engraved on the front and back.

"Cowboys, we're here, enjoy the night!"

Wednesday turned the steering wheel lightly, and the car turned gracefully and entered a brightly lit street.

The sky had begun to darken.

Starry Night Bar is full of common scenes, including drunken drunkards, girls swaying to the music, bartenders showing off their skills... and of course, men and women hunting at the bar.

When he walked to the bar on Wednesday, he took out his wallet from his pocket, took out a few Franklins, and then rented a booth.

"Sweeney, bring out our wine."

Wednesday leaned on the booth, crossed his legs, and looked at the shadow with a smile.

Shadow was stunned for a moment, then realized what was happening. He quickly looked towards Sweeney.

"If I had known better I should have set up a spell, like...Open Sesame?"

The leprechaun smiled, waved his palm on the short table, and the barrel of mead appeared in front of the three of them.

"Damn, that's not magic, is it? I should have thought of it earlier, you all..."

Shadow finally understood now that Sweeney's coin trick was purely the use of divine power.

"I still propose that we fight. My bet remains unchanged. If you lose, I want you to crawl around this bar."

Sweeney poured three glasses of mead and pushed them in front of the three of them.He put his hands on the low table and looked down at the shadow with a smile.

"Listen, I work for Mr. Wednesday just like you. I don't want to conflict with you."

Shadow looked calm and shrugged, obviously not wanting to make this stupid bet.

"My suggestion is, have a few drinks first, don't forget that we are here to help Shadow solve problems..."

Wednesday picked up the glass and drank it all in one gulp.

"Are you scared, puppy?"

Sweeney also drank the mead. He had already drank a lot of rye beer in the car. For leprechauns, it was an excellent drink for getting drunk.

The two different drinks interacted and Sweeney got really drunk.

"Sorry, what did you say?"

Shadow can tolerate insults from others, but he doesn't want to hear anyone call him "dog". Only his late wife Laura can call him that.

"What's wrong with you, puppy?"

Sweeney's face turned red. He stretched out his right hand and dropped a gold coin.

Ding~

Gold coins were spinning on the low table.

Wednesday looked at it carefully. The sun and stars were engraved on this gold coin - this was Sweeney's lucky gold coin.
