A friendly day at Hogwarts

Chapter 15 Common Room

"Our college's common room does not require a password, but the door knocker will ask you questions, and it will only open if you answer the questions correctly. But don't be afraid, this is a good opportunity to learn knowledge."

The male prefect said and knocked on the wooden door.

The eagle's beak on the door knocker opened and asked in a musical voice: "How to prove that something does not exist?"

"Hmm...this is an interesting question," the female prefect said to a strong boy waiting in front of the door, "No wonder you can't answer it, Roger."

"It's much harder to answer questions than Quidditch." The boy named Roger replied awkwardly.

The male prefect looked at the nervous freshmen and said cheerfully: "Don't panic, the questions prepared for the door knocker during the holidays are only enough for two months. After Easter, it will have no new questions!" (Private setting) )

"I think... we don't need to prove it, because as long as we don't prove its existence, then for us, it doesn't exist, right?"

"At least I can't prove you wrong, can I?" the sweet voice replied.

Then the wooden door opened gently with a creak, and the prefect and a group of young wizards filed in.

The empty common room is spacious and quiet, giving it an ethereal feel.

Simple and elegant arched windows are scattered on the wall, dotted with blue and bronze silk curtains.

The dark blue dome and carpet are painted with stars, as peaceful as the night sky.

The statue of Rowena Ravenclaw wearing a crown stood in the niche facing the door, smiling at the new students who had just entered. Her motto is written on the marble base of the statue: Extraordinary intelligence is the greatest wealth of mankind.

Glen was particularly pleased with the bright décor of the Ravenclaw common room compared to other houses featured in the film.

The prefect introduced them to the assigned dormitories, and without saying anything else, directly announced the disbandment.

Ravenclaw Tower has more rooms than Gryffindor, so only three people live in each dormitory.

Glenn, business genius Eddie and bit player Marcos were grouped together.

After running around all day, the three of them were already exhausted, especially Glenn who got up early in the morning to take part in the half-day tour to the train station.

There was no time to say anything else, let alone admire the room furnishings and the four-poster bed hung with blue velvet curtains.

Glenn only remembered that he changed into his pajamas and climbed into bed, then lost consciousness. When he woke up again, it was daylight.

Fortunately, the second day of school happened to be Sunday. Glenn, who had regained his energy, washed himself up and changed into his robe before going downstairs to the common room.

It's late summer in the Scottish Highlands and it's starting to cool down, so it's a little chilly in the lounge.

Glenn found an empty armchair and sat down, looking at the flames in the fireplace comfortably, calling up the system and flipping through it at will.

Sunlight filtered through the spotless windows and reflected on the face of the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw.

Other students came downstairs one after another, and the common room gradually became lively. They sat in groups around the fire and chatted about interesting things that happened during the holidays.

Many people gathered around the extroverted Roger Davis and listened to him describe the 421st Quidditch World Cup finals during the summer vacation, including Eddie and Marcos.

Strange to say, it stands to reason that the period from 1473 to 1990 is only over 500 years. However, the World Cup, which is held every four years, has been held for more than 400 times, and the competition time has changed from odd years to even years.

From this, the chaotic history of the Quidditch world can be seen.

According to Roger Davis, the final lasted for five full days, and Canada finally defeated Scotland with a score of 270:240 and won the Quidditch Gold Cup.

In other words, excluding the 150 points brought by catching the Golden Snitch, the two teams combined only scored 36 goals, which is equivalent to an average of 3 hours and 20 minutes per goal.

With such difficulty in scoring a goal, I can only say that the goalkeepers on both sides are really good...

(Rowling is so buggy, so outrageous. My whole body broke when I was looking for information while writing this.)

Qiuya came to the lounge at some point and was holding Marietta's arm, listening intently.

Roger's eloquence is indeed extraordinary, and his narration of the five-day competition was thrilling and exciting.

It wasn't until his mouth was dry from talking and his forehead was sweating that he realized that a large group of people had gathered around him unknowingly, looking at him intently.

"Keep talking!" a senior boy urged.

"Aha... It's lunch time!" He was a little embarrassed and changed the subject with a dry smile, "I'm almost starving!"

Roger separated from the crowd and fled quickly, filling the common room with a happy atmosphere.

"Let's go! Go have lunch."

A small hand waved in front of Glenn's eyes.

"Oh, okay!" Glenn glanced at the milestone interface on the screen again, then turned off the system, stood up and walked out of the lounge with Qiu, but he felt vaguely that he had missed something.

...

The next day, the school year at Hogwarts officially begins.Glenn woke up early and went to the auditorium with his roommates.

The first lesson for new Ravenclaw students is Transfiguration.

In the introduction to the senior students, Professor McGonagall, who was responsible for teaching this subject, was known for being extremely strict, so the three of them had breakfast casually for fear of being late, and started looking for the Transfiguration classroom early.

The classrooms at Hogwarts are obviously much harder to find than the train platforms.Although King's Cross Station is large, it still has a road sign, while Hogwarts not only has no signs, but there are traps everywhere.

The entire 140 stairs are changing all the time, and any step may disappear in the next second.

Of course, there's more to Hogwarts than just that.

In addition to the stairs, the passages leading to everywhere also have hidden mysteries. It is possible that behind a small door that looks normal, there is only a solid smooth wall, and the real shortcut is hidden just one step away.

Only when the correct mechanism is found, the correct route behind those moving wall panels will reveal its true colors.

These mechanisms include but are not limited to knocking on wall tiles, talking to portraits, etc.

Apparently, the day of the dinner plus Sunday afternoon's fumbling wasn't enough for Eddie and Marcos to memorize the exact move.

Therefore, when there were only 5 minutes left before class, they were horrified to find that they were still three floors away from the classroom.

It is said that all the mazes and mechanisms at Hogwarts were designed and completed by Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the school's founders.

Glenn, the old roadie, was [-]% sure that this was the first time in his two lives that he had hated someone so much.

Fortunately, the aloof Ms. Gray happened to be passing by at this time and kindly led them through several shortcuts and arrived at the classroom door in time.
