Chapter 55 Looking for Eugene
New York, Hell's Kitchen.
Al and Peter were walking on the somewhat deserted street.
There were even fewer people here than the last time they came here.
When I came last time, I could occasionally see some gangsters wandering around and guarding the door.
Nowadays, most of the stores here are closed and have signs saying they are temporarily closed.
The two of them came here to find the headquarters of the Kenha Gang, and Al wanted to find Eugene. Since the last time the campus summoned Dagon, this guy has mysteriously disappeared.
The only one he's associated with is the Kenha gang.
Al came to him mainly for their future sect's time-traveling technology.
There are no permanent enemies in the world, only permanent interests. Al agrees with this very much.
Al's past has a deep connection with the Future Sect.
He wants to try to borrow the technology of the Future Sect to go back to World War II and find Dr. Erskine.
But they wandered around for a long time and wanted to catch some hoodlums on the roadside to ask for directions, but these punks seemed to have disappeared en masse.
Occasionally passing by on the road are some poor households living here.
"Hey, why did all these gangsters suddenly disappear? I can't find any of them." Al complained.
"Why are you looking for a gangster?" A voice suddenly came from the dark alley.
Kick kick.
A blind man wearing black leather shoes and a light gray suit came out.
"Matt, long time no see." Al greeted.
Peter also said hello to Matt.
Matt's face didn't look good, he didn't like Al.
Ignoring Al's greeting, Matt repeated, "What are you doing here to find the gang?"
"I'm looking for Kenha's gang, and I have something to do with Eugene."
"The Kenha Gang is now led by Horace. Eugene has disappeared a long time ago. I heard that the police are looking for him. He must be hiding." Matt said.
Al's eyes flashed, and he noticed that Matt had an unnatural pause when he said this, and then put a hand on Matt's shoulder.
"Lao Ma, what's going on in Hell's Kitchen recently? Why are there so few people?"
"This is not something you should know." Matt twisted around and pulled away from Al's arm.
"Who are they hiding from? According to what I know, the police haven't improved the security in Hell's Kitchen recently, and besides, the people at the police station can't do anything here.
Tell me, I might be able to help. "
The shadow mechas in his Stark warehouse disappeared. Recently, the whole of New York has revealed an unusual atmosphere.
The weather is abnormal and people's hearts are also very unstable.
It was like a dynamite barrel that was lit and waiting to explode.
Al didn't expect that even Hell's Kitchen would be affected.
Matt was silent for a moment, pointed to the law firm's office building not far away, and gestured for the two of them to go up.
The two of them looked at each other and followed.
Pushing open the door of the law firm, Matt said directly without even reaching for water, "Hell's Kitchen has been very unusual recently, all black market transactions have stopped.
Gangs, big and small, are either shrinking or walking out of the two blocks where Hell's Kitchen is located every day.
People die every day, but there are still many people going out every day. "
Matt has also been investigating this matter recently. The strange actions of the gang made him feel that something big was happening in New York.
Al immediately connected this matter with the disappearance of the shadow mecha before, but after thinking about it for a while, he didn't think about the connection between them.
Then, he briefly told Matt what happened in the Stark Industries warehouse. Matt had already had contact with this shadow creature.
In the end, Matt still left Al's phone number and would call Al if necessary. Al was the expert on this kind of thing.
After talking about recent events, Al finally asked about Eugene's whereabouts.
"Matt, do you really not know where Eugene is? Don't lie to me. I know your ability. If others can't find it, you may not be able to find it."
Matt's super hearing can monitor the entire neighborhood and act like a living radar.
As long as Eugene is still associated with the Kenha gang, Matt will know something.
"Go to No. 188 and have a look. There are often some unusual sounds coming from there. I heard a weird low-frequency sound there."
Matt still told Al some things he knew, and Al was shocked.
"Thank you"
With that said, he picked up his coat, pulled Peter, and turned to leave.
"Mr. Matt, thank you." Peter greeted Matt politely.
Then he was pulled away by Al.
"Al, is Eugene really going to be there?" Peter asked.
"I don't know, but they shouldn't give up on the power of the Kenha Gang easily. They must still be connected." Al didn't know for sure, he was just guessing.
The two of them walked non-stop until they reached house No. 188 on the block. The house was very old and was no different from the surrounding houses.
Peter politely walked up and knocked on the door, but no one responded.
Like an empty house.
Peter turned to look at Al, who smiled slightly and summoned a huge black shadow inside the house. The shadow squatted down and opened the door.
Al walked in swaggeringly as if he had entered his own home.
There was a shoe rack at the entrance. There were several pairs of shoes on the shoe rack. The shoes emitted a faint odor, but they were still noticed by the two sensitive people.
Peter frowned, "Is there something wrong with the shoes?"
"Smell carefully." Al smiled.
There was something wrong with these shoes. Peter concentrated, picked up the shoes and smelled them carefully. His sensitive spider senses were almost fainted by the smell of the shoes.
But Peter still didn't find the problem, "Al, what's the problem? Why didn't I find it?"
Al burst out laughing, "I didn't say there was anything wrong with the shoes, I just thought they were a bit smelly."
"Al" Peter angrily threw his shoe at Al.
Stepping forward to ask for a real person PK, Al suddenly raised his hand and said, "Wait until you hear it."
"Don't try to lie to me, I won't let you go this time." Peter said hard, but his movements stopped.
He listened carefully to what sounds were coming from the attachment and looked at Al with doubtful eyes.
When the two fell silent, a faint sound of waves could be heard in the silence.
Bursts of singing came randomly.
The two came to the living room looking for the sound.
Eugene was sitting on the sofa, holding a glass of red wine, and Elvis Presley's songs were playing on the ancient gramophone.
"You're here." Eugene's expression was calm, and he couldn't tell that the two of them were still fighting to the death.
Using the accumulation of human lives to kill the servants of the evil god is the difference in philosophy between the future and the present.
Al, who was also familiar with it, poured himself and Peter a glass of wine and took a sip. It was sour and not good to drink. Then he opened a can of Coke and drank it.
The dead are already dead and will not be resurrected no matter how much they are held accountable.
The most important thing is that Al didn't like Eugene at that time, but now, Al looks very pleased with Eugene.
"Eugene, can you lend me that device that travels through time and space?"
Al and Peter were walking on the somewhat deserted street.
