Admiral of Hogwarts

022 On the train

Just a few minutes after Hugo and Hermione sat down, they each took out a book from their luggage and started reading. Of course, it was impossible to read a textbook at this time, but something similar to a travelogue that I had bought at Flourish and Blotts Bookstore.

To be precise, this should be a set of booklets that provide a simple and comprehensive introduction to the wizarding world in European countries. It records the locations exclusive to wizards in various countries and the specialties of the wizarding world in each country. It is more of a travel guide than a popular science booklet. After all, compared with ordinary people, it is much easier for them to travel across countries with Floo Network and Apparition magic.

"It's really noisy outside." After turning over a dozen pages, Hermione glanced around the entire compartment helplessly. After all, this train was an ancient model, and the carriages were all made of thin wooden boards, so they were soundproof. The effect is not very good. After the wizards obtained the train, they also focused their magical transformation on other places and did not pay attention to the sound insulation problem.

So after they sat down, there were all kinds of noises echoing around them, such as the sounds of students getting on the bus saying goodbye to their parents, the sounds of running and fighting in the car, or the sounds of luggage being moved. Although these sounds are not loud, I always feel that my ears are buzzing when I read a book.

What's more important is that the doors in the compartment they are in are half-open. After all, the compartment is not full. According to the etiquette of riding, it is very rude to close the door now.

"It is indeed a bit noisy." Hugo said as he put down the book. In fact, although the surrounding sounds were noisy, they were not so noisy that I couldn't read the book. Hermione put down her book and complained to Hugo that she was probably just nervous.

After all, this is the first time in 11 years that they have been away from home for an extended period of time, and they are going to a place they have never been to before, or even heard of. It is very normal to be nervous in this situation.

So Hugo also put down the book, then took out a small bag of custard biscuits from his luggage and handed it over. "I think we can have some cookies now and read a book while the car drives away."

Sure enough, sweets can soothe nerves in many cases. Hermione seemed to calm down a lot after eating two or three cookies with a lot of condensed milk and sugar. Just as the two of them were eating cookies and starting to guess what the magic school would be like, there was a knock on the door of the half-open cubicle.

"So you are here. I have been looking for you since I got on the bus. Fortunately, I only found you after passing one car." After the knocking on the door stopped, the person outside opened the door and a girl with short silver-white hair walked out. He walked in, followed by a blond girl with twin tails and blue eyes. "Can we sit here?"

"Of course, of course it's no problem. Miss Veneto." Meeting an acquaintance in this car full of strangers was a very happy thing for Hermione, so the very enthusiastic general Veneto and the girl behind him entered the room, and then he and Hugo helped them put their luggage on the shelves.

"Who is this lady?" Hermione asked Veneto after everyone sat down in their seats, because she saw that the girl and Veneto looked very familiar to each other, and it didn't look like they had just met.

"Oh, she is a distant cousin of mine, and she has been with my sister Hood before." Veneto briefly introduced, "Her name is Firefly, Firefly Lupu."

Obviously, Firefly used the name of his ship as his first name, and then took the last name of the brave captain as his last name. But there is nothing strange about the names formed in this way.

After all, the British people have a much wider range of naming options than Hugo's home country in his previous life. All kinds of things can be used as his name. For example, Sirius used a certain constellation as his name. Therefore, using Firefly as a name was considered normal, and Hermione didn't feel anything was wrong.

Perhaps because they had met before and left a good impression on both parties, the four people in the carriage soon started chatting together. Even the fact that the train was starting to leave from King's Cross station did not interrupt their chat.

"Actually, I have received a letter from Beauxbatons before, maybe because I have been in Italy before." After the train left the city of London, green fields began to appear on both sides of the railway. At this time, Veneto began to talk about the interesting things he had encountered in the carriage. "But I had already agreed to come to Hogwarts at that time, so I could only send them a letter to express my apology."

"Beauxbatons seems to be a magic school in France, and it is also one of the three strongest schools in Europe." Hermione recalled the book she had read before and said: "And the other two are the ones we are going to now. Hogwarts and Durmstrang should be located in Northern Europe or Germany."

"But according to the book I bought before, Hogwarts should be the oldest and best school among the three schools." Hermione shrugged at this. "However, considering that these books are all published in the UK, their impartiality is more doubtful."

Soon everyone focused from discussing magic education in Europe to Hogwarts school itself, and then naturally discussed the matter of sorting.

"Many of the books I read say that Gryffindor is the best house in Hogwarts, because the greatest white wizard of this century, Professor Dumbledore, graduated from this house. But I feel a little bit wrong about this house. The characteristics are not completely in line with my personality." Hermione read a lot of books on the issue of sorting, and had discussed it with Hugo several times at home before. So I probably have my own judgment. "But even so, Gryffindor is still attractive enough to me, but on the other hand, I think Ravenclaw is also good."

"But the problem is that we don't know how the school is divided into different schools." The person who spoke at this time was Firefly. As an outgoing ship girl, she quickly became familiar with Hermione even if she just met her. "I watched it at home. There are several books, but all of them only say that the sorting is done through a ceremony, but they don’t tell the specific content of this ceremony.”

As a ship girl, Firefly knew that the Sorting Hat relied on Hugo's admiral network, but theoretically she shouldn't know this, so at this time she just told Hermione the definition in the book.

"So, except for Slytherin, we may be sorted into any of the remaining three houses." Hermione shrugged. "After all, we don't have so-called wizard blood."

After discussing the matter of sorting for a while, the four people in the cubicle discussed homework again. Hermione seemed a little worried that she would not be able to compare academically to those students from wizarding families, but Veneto said that based on the books she had read before, wizards believed that learning magic at a young age was not conducive to children's physical and magical development, so it was unnecessary. Worry too much about this.

While they were talking, the train was racing along the tracks, speeding along fields filled with cattle and sheep.
