Hogwarts from another world

Chapter 88 Good evening (please recommend)

The corridor was dark, and you couldn't see where you were.

"Lumos" Matthew Wakefield pulled out his wand and shouted softly.

A faint light suddenly lit up in the darkness, illuminating the road ahead of Matthew.

"Oh, what are you doing, kid?" On a giant oil painting next to it, several drunken monks quickly covered their eyes and shouted: "Quickly extinguish it, hurry up, you're going to blind our eyes."

"For Merlin's sake, get out of here." In another portrait below, a white-haired old man waved his arms and shouted in dissatisfaction.

"My dear little baby, don't cry anymore." The oil painting of a mother and daughter seemed to be awakened. The child was crying loudly, while the mother was comforting her child in a low voice while humming a tune.

Matthew ignored their complaints and continued walking down the corridor.

He didn't seem to be in a hurry, at least he was walking leisurely.

And Matthew's luck was pretty good. During this "night tour", he didn't meet the administrator Pringle or Mr. Tang, or any other teachers.

Soon, he was almost out of the dark and damp basement.

Passing through another corridor, the Potions classroom appeared in front of Matthew. This was also the location where Adams and Carlo, two Slytherin students from the Slug Club, were attacked.

Matthew did not continue walking forward, nor did he go to the Potions classroom. Instead, he suddenly stopped in front of a broken iron door.

This is a long-abandoned girls' restroom, with a huge "Out of Order" written on the door number.

In the original work, this bathroom is also a very "famous" place.

Because this is actually the entrance to the "Secret Chamber", the territory of the ghost "Moaning Myrtle"; and a few hundred feet down from this bathroom is the Secret Chamber where the Basilisk lives.

Matthew lowered his head and looked at the rusty brass ball handle.

He ignored the door sign with the word "Out of Order" written on it, unscrewed the handle, pushed the door open and walked in.

"Is there anyone?" Matthew looked around the bathroom and asked loudly. He shouted three times in a row: "Is there anyone?"

No response.

Whether it's a human response or a ghost's response.

So, he walked in with confidence.

I have to say, this is the darkest and most dreary place Matthew has ever been.

In front of him was a large stained and cracked mirror, and underneath was a row of stone pools with peeling surfaces.

The floor was wet, and the stumps of a few candles were burning low on the brackets, casting a dim light and casting a gloomy light on the floor.

The wooden doors of the individual toilet rooms looked old and full of scratches; and in mid-air, the broken chandelier hung feebly.

Matthew didn't bother to search for anything in the bathroom. He found a toilet that didn't look too dirty. After putting down the toilet seat, he sat down on it.

Then he began to wait patiently, even the faint light of the wand in his hand was canceled by him.

It's a pity that I am too young, otherwise it would be great to have a cigarette while waiting.

Fortunately, Matthew didn't wait too long.

About five minutes later, there was a sound of footsteps in the corridor outside.

Very light footsteps, getting closer and closer, getting closer and closer

Then there was the sound of unscrewing the brass ball handle.

Then a small dark shadow broke into the dim bathroom.

Finally, she turned and closed the door gently.

Meanwhile, Matthew Wakefield stood up from the toilet seat.

"Good evening." His voice was not loud, but it was certainly enough for the other party to hear clearly:

"Miss Evans."

The shadow seemed startled.

But when she realized that the owner of the voice was actually just a twelve-year-old child, she seemed to relax again.

She strode towards Matthew Wakefield until both sides could see each other's faces clearly in the faint light of the candles.

The familiar face of Harry Evans appeared in front of Matthew again.

Only this time, she no longer lowered her head, nor did she look panicked or extremely inferior. Of course, her expression did look a little surprised now.

"Wakefield" Evans' voice was still a male: "Why are you here? Wandering around in the castle at this time is very dangerous. The murderer who caused the series of attacks is still in the castle."

"Perhaps I should call you Mr. Evans, which is more appropriate." Matthew said thoughtfully: "Of course I know the murderer who caused the series of attacks is still in the castle. Look, I'm not here to come. Is she coming?"

Harry Evans's face suddenly darkened, and her right hand gently grasped her wand.

"I think you must be thinking about how to kill me." Matthew said calmly: "But before that, I want to beg you to allow me to say a few words. I guess you have been there for many, many years." You haven’t chatted with anyone, haven’t you? Look, I’m alone now, and a first-year student like me won’t pose any threat to you.”

Evans suddenly laughed.

Although she still has the face of a little boy, when she smiles, her face is full of charm

"I'm suddenly interested in you, Wakefield." She said with a smile: "Tell me, how did you discover my identity?"

"Honestly, there are so many loopholes that I don't know where to start." Matthew shrugged:

"But the most fundamental thing is that your camouflage skills are really not very good."

Matthew paused and continued to speak slowly: "I'm afraid you have tried your best to pretend to be a little boy and minimized your interactions with other people. But many natural habits can change in a short period of time. It’s still unchangeable”

"I discovered it myself, maybe it's just my illusion; but when several of my friends have this view at the same time, then it's not our problem, but your problem."

"It is very unreasonable for a little boy in first grade to suddenly exhibit many female-oriented behaviors."

"I don't think Hogwarts or the Sorting Hat would make such a stupid mistake as misjudging the gender of a first-year freshman. Then there is only one explanation left."

Matthew blinked slightly and said in summary:

"You are not the real Harry Evans at all, but a female pretender, right?"
