Hogwarts from another world

Chapter 149 By the campfire

"Hogwarts from Another World"

The near-miss journey to Hogsmeade is finally over.

At the top of the castle stairs, Matthew Wakefield said goodbye to his two friends and started back to the Slytherin common room.

Both Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom regarded the previous events as a bad "own incident"; they said nothing more before parting.

It wasn't until he sat next to the fire in the Slytherin common room again that Matthew barely felt some warmth.

He vowed never to go to Hogsmeade again...

I went there twice before and had such a bad experience... that village was really terrible!

……

There were very few people in the Slytherin common room.

After all, today is the first day to go to Hogsmeade this semester, and it's still Sunday.

Matthew was lying on the soft green armchair, feeling the warmth caused by the burning fire in the fireplace, and thinking about everything that happened today... At the same time, he was thinking about what he should do!

I have to say that this experience in Hogsmeade was too bizarre... Even if he racked his brains, he couldn't figure out the reason.

"Wakefield!" At this moment, a familiar voice sounded from behind.

Matthew was stunned for a moment and responded: "Miss Lestrange, good afternoon..."

"It's still morning..." Agnes Lestrange said coldly.

She walked over and came to the bonfire, sitting not far from Matthew.

"Okay...my concept of time is a little off..." Matthew looked down at his watch awkwardly.

Miss Lestrange was right, it was only half past ten in the morning...

On the surface, it seemed that he had been in Hogsmeade for a long, long time... so many "accidents" happened there that his mental state was somewhat bad.

But in fact, less than two hours had passed since he left Hogwarts in the morning.

"Didn't you go to Hogsmeade?" Agnes Lestrange asked as she stretched out her hand to light the fire. "I saw you at breakfast with Gryffindor Longbottom and Raven. We went there together with Crow and Granger...why are you back now?"

"Yes, then I felt a little unwell, so I came back..." Matthew coughed lightly and explained.

There seemed to be a brief silence between the two.

Matthew didn't know what to say.

As for Agnes, she pursed her lips and seemed to be thinking about something.

"So..." she said softly, her tone not as cold as usual, but much softer, "Don't you like dementors too?"

"Don't like dementors?"

Matthew quickly realized that the girl seemed to have misunderstood something.

She went to Hogsmeade early in the morning and came back so soon, warming herself by the fire in the fireplace... In addition, her face was very ugly and her mental state was depressed... so she mistakenly believed that she was under the influence of dementors. …

But Matthew didn't want to explain too much about this, and he couldn't explain it.

Moreover, this seemed to be a suitable excuse for him not to go to Hogsmeade in the future.

After all, he believed that Neville, Hermione, and even Professor "Severus Snape" would not make a big deal about the previous "own errors".

"Yes," he sighed, as if he was feeling something, "those things are like monsters from hell...the peace, hope and happiness in the air seem to be sucked dry by them...as soon as you get close to them, The coldness, the pain... I hate them, so much..."

Matthew hasn’t finished speaking yet

Agnes Lestrange suddenly lowered her head and covered her face tightly with her hands.

She seemed to be crying...

……

To be honest, this made Matthew a little uncomfortable.

In his impression, Agnes Lestrange had always been extremely cold and fierce... This was the first time she had shown such a fragile look in front of Matthew.

However, Matthew didn't know how to comfort him, so he could only wait on the sidelines.

After an unknown amount of time, the silver-haired girl raised her head again.

Her eye circles were still red.

"Sorry, I lost my temper..." she said softly, "I thought of some unpleasant things..."

"It's my fault, I shouldn't have mentioned the dementors..." Matthew said quickly.

"It's okay," the silver-haired girl smiled sadly, "It seems that we all have a past that we don't want to think about..."

Matthew could only nod vaguely.

Fortunately, at this moment, an owl flew in from outside, which relieved Matthew's embarrassment.

The owl dropped a letter in front of Matthew and quickly flew away.

On the other side of the letter, there is a picture of a huge slug, which is very eye-catching...

No doubt it had been sent to him by Horace Slughorn, the Potions teacher.

Matthew opened it slowly. There was not much content on it, but Slughorn reminded him that he must attend the slug dinner that night.

After reading it, he threw the envelope and letter into the fireplace, letting them become part of the fuel.

……

"Did Slughorn send it to you?" Agnes asked suddenly.

Her voice was measured.

And Matthew noticed that she did not use an honorific when addressing the head of Slytherin.

"Yeah..." Matthew nodded.

"I suggest you stay away from him... Horace Slughorn is a dangerous man!" the silver-haired girl said solemnly.

Matthew couldn't help but frown slightly.

This is the second time Agnes Lestrange has given such a "warning" to Matthew.

The previous time was last Christmas... although Professor Horace Slughorn has never shown any "danger" since then.

But Matthew believed that there was no need for Miss Lestrange to deliberately deceive him in this place.

"Why?" Matthew asked softly.

"The members of Horace Slughorn's small circle...the Muggle-born wizards among them...almost all of them ended badly..." Agnes hesitated for a moment and explained,

"Of course, I just heard about it..."

"...In addition, Slughorn has a very close relationship with some wizards outside the school who are not well-known...such as Lucius Malfoy..."

"Is that so..." Matthew nodded solemnly:

"Thank you!"

He squinted his eyes and lay down in the armchair again.

At the same time, his mind began to recall the things that had happened before.
