Hogwarts from another world

Chapter 13 The Sorting Hat’s Choice

Among the several houses at Hogwarts, which one is more suitable for you?

To be honest, Matthew had barely considered this issue before.

Because he had encountered too many "bizarre" events these days, he even completely forgot about such trivial matters as the sorting ceremony.

But if he is asked to make a choice now

Ravenclaw is definitely the most suitable.

Hufflepuff and Gryffindor shouldn't be too bad.

As for Slytherin, as a Muggle-born wizard, the possibility of him being separated is unlikely.

All in all, let’s look at the “arrangements” of the Sorting Hat.

Matthew Wakefield sat upright on the small bench, placing the old wizard hat on his head to block his sight; in the dark world inside the hat, he quietly waited for the Sorting Hat's choice.

There was silence, no sound.

this is strange

As usual, shouldn't the Sorting Hat have a conversation with him?

Evaluate his character and even ask for his opinion.

Matthew waited patiently for about half a minute, but still could not hear any movement, except for the faint noise coming from the auditorium.

This made him a little anxious.

Could it be that there is something wrong with the sorting hat? The hat suddenly broke.

Or is it that he made a mistake coming to Hogwarts, that he is not a wizard at all, and that he should take the train back now?

Or other unexpected circumstances

He now wanted to take off the hat and ask Professor Rozier what was going on.

But reason still suppressed the impulse.

hold on

He continued to wait, but the hat failed to make any sound.

I waited like this for a long time, maybe two or three minutes.

"It's terrible." Matthew suddenly heard a small voice in his ears:

"It's terrible, it's terrible, it's terrible."

"I swear by Gryffindor's beard, I've never seen anything so horrific."

It was the sound made by the Sorting Hat. It was subtle and sharp, and it could be clearly heard that the sound seemed to be trembling.

Matthew was stunned for a moment, not understanding why the Sorting Hat would utter such nonsense.

Immediately afterwards, he heard the hat shout a name hoarsely to the entire auditorium:

"Slytherin"

A burst of scattered applause suddenly erupted from the long table on the far right.

"" Matthew felt like his mind was filled with questions.

Being sorted into Slytherin House was the next thing. Matthew was even more confused about what the Sorting Hat suddenly said after being silent for a long time.

what exactly does it mean

Could it be that

"Is there anything else, Mr. Wakefield?" Professor Rozier asked coldly.

"Sorry, ma'am." Matthew stood up quickly.

Then, he handed the hat to the darker-skinned student who had come over and was not sorted yet.

"welcome"

"Welcome to Slytherin"

"Nice to meet you Matthew"

When Matthew came to the long Slytherin table, several enthusiastic Slytherin students stood up and shook hands with him.

Of course, there were also some people who were whispering. For example, Greengrass and Lestrange, who were both in the first grade, were pointing at him and discussing something.

Matthew was pulled by a senior girl and sat down next to her. He could just see the last scene of the sorting ceremony.

The last remaining student, Blaise Sabine, was sorted into Hufflepuff.

Mr. Chabini seemed quite dissatisfied with the Sorting Hat's decision.

And Matthew noticed that when the Sorting Hat finally called out the name of the house, his voice was still hoarse and trembling.

Professor Rosier rolled up the parchment, picked up the sorting hat at the same time, and left the auditorium.

As she left, the entire auditorium became noisy again.

"Hello, Matthew." The senior girl next to him patted his shoulder gently: "I am the prefect of Slytherin: Gemma Farley."

This senior girl has short, sleek hair and very fair skin. Although she is not very beautiful, she gives people a trustworthy feeling.

"Hello, Miss Farley" Matthew quickly shook hands with her.

He suddenly realized that he was in an embarrassing situation.

As a first-year Muggle-born freshman, he came to Slytherin House, a gathering place for pure-blood believers.

It's like a sheep in the midst of a pride of lions

But now that the deal is done, we can only take one step at a time.

"How do you feel now that you have been sorted into Slytherin?" Miss Gamalfalli asked with a smile.

"How should I put it?" Matthew stammered and replied, "I feel a little complicated."

"Don't worry, we Slytherin students will take care of each other," Farley said eagerly, "If you encounter any problems in the future, you can come to me at any time, or you can find other senior students."

"Okay, I understand" Matthew nodded.

"By the way, Wakefield." A somewhat frivolous voice suddenly sounded from the other side.

He is a young man with a pale face and a thin body.

"Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." He nodded slightly towards Matthew.

"Hello"

"Can I ask about your parents? I don't quite remember a pure-blood wizard named Wakefield." Draco Malfoy spoke slowly and in a long, annoying way.

"I can't remember what they look like." Matthew answered honestly.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Malfoy said, but there was no hint of apology in his words.

"This is Crabbe and Goyle." He first pointed to the two fat guys on the other side, and then pointed to a tall and thin boy opposite the long table: "And Theodore Nott."

"The five of us are probably all the boys in Slytherin this year. We should live in the same dormitory."

"I'm honored." Matthew said lightly.

Seemingly finding it a bit boring to talk with Matthew, Draco Malfoy turned away again and began to say something to Crabbe and Goyle.

Matthew could finally take a good look at the guest of honor seat on the high platform.

He saw Professor Kettleburn, sitting in the corner nearest to him. He had taken off all three prosthetic limbs on his body and placed them on the side of the dining table.

"Miss Farley" Matthew turned around.

"What's wrong"

"Can you introduce the teachers at the guest table?" Matthew asked softly.

"sure"
