Burn Marvel

Chapter 22 Private Detective

After settling Audrey, Old John had time to think about Li Ze.

Shaking his beer belly caused by neglect of exercise, he walked up to Li Ze.

"I don't know how to thank you enough, Lee." John Sr. said.

"It's just a small matter." Li Ze waved his hand.

Old John looked at him, turned his hands into fists, and hammered his chest twice to show that he remembered everything.

"Is your car repair shop saved?" Li Ze asked.

"Perhaps with God's blessing, those guys have withdrawn the lawsuit for some reason, which saves me a lot of legal fees." Old John said.

When the law is never perfect, the most favorite thing for black-hearted businessmen is to take advantage of the loopholes of the law.

For example, extending the time for evidence collection, delaying the progress of the trial, etc., until the poor are overwhelmed by the high attorney fees and litigation costs.

You must know that those prestigious lawyers have begun to charge by the hour. The poor cannot afford it at all, and they are forced to accept rookie lawyers who have just graduated from college and are sent by the court.

"That's not bad. Except for the poor lawyer who didn't make any money, everything is happy." Li Ze said with a smile.

"Speaking of that lawyer..." Old John looked strange. "He is also a great person. As a disabled person opening a law firm in Hell's Kitchen, life is not easy."

"Disabled?"

"Well, he's a blind man."

Li Ze's face also became strange. Old John, you are not the NPC who specifically triggers the mission, are you?

"So the lawyer you are looking for is a blind man who runs a law firm in Hell's Kitchen?" Li Ze said.

"He is a kind-hearted blind man with a sense of justice. You know I don't have much money. It is said that this lawyer likes to help the poor. He can use eggs and pies as legal fees, and his winning rate is pretty good." Old John added.

"There are always all kinds of people in Hell's Kitchen," Li Ze said.

"Yes! He is a strange and amazing person!" Old John sighed.

Li Ze chuckled in his heart. You haven't seen him wearing leather clothes at night with horns on his head, that would be even weirder.

After chatting for a few more words, Li Ze said goodbye wisely, not to disturb the father-daughter reunion time.

I drove back to Li's Ancestral Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic and went upstairs to watch the news. There was nothing about it except who had stolen someone's pressure cooker.

After going into the bathroom to wash up, I lay down on the bed and went to sleep.

A few days later, one noon, after returning the car keys to Oliver the mouse, Li Ze sat on the sofa in the store and suddenly felt melancholy with nothing to do.

More than a year ago, when he first traveled to the Marvel world, Li Ze was filled with fear, curiosity and bewilderment.

Survival has become the first priority. Thinking about money, glory, and world domination when you have no friends and are hungry is nonsense. If you have that time, you might as well think about which park to stay in tonight.

Now that I have just established myself, I feel a little idle and bored.

People are restless when they are full.

I called and ordered fast food for five people, hamburgers, fries, and a few slices of pizza. These things are very cheap in A, and its status in the world is similar to that of Lanzhou Ramen.

I waited for the takeaway boy to deliver the takeout and paid. Carrying a few food bags, he rushed to the second floor opposite.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents on the second floor opposite were looking at him inexplicably, not knowing what this man was up to.

When Li Ze came out of the elevator, Sharon was already waiting for him at the elevator entrance.

"What's the matter?" Sharon asked in a cold tone.

"It's okay. I'll bring you some food. Thank you for sending me to Gebang College that night." Li Ze said.

"No, I'm just following the order." Sharon's face softened slightly.

"No matter what, I still have to thank you." Li Ze raised the bag in his hand, "It's still hot!"

"No, we've already eaten." Sharon looked at the Burger King printed on the bag and said, "And this is how you thank me?"

"It doesn't suit your taste? How about I treat you to a big dinner?"

"No, we have discipline." When she mentioned the word 'discipline', Sharon's voice faltered heavily.

"Don't be like this, I didn't poison it. I won't kill you." Li Ze said.

Sharon certainly didn't think he would poison them. In fact, if Li Ze attacked them, it wouldn't take much effort.

She just felt that it was a bit...weird to come over with Coke, French fries, and hamburgers to thank her.

"Just came here to thank you? Nothing else?" Sharon asked.

"Just thanks, I stopped by to chat. I'm really bored at home." Li Ze said with a smile.

"Yeah." Sharon nodded, took the bag, turned and walked towards the door, "Sorry, we have no obligation to chat."

Li Ze was left standing there, but after all, he didn't pursue him shamelessly.

In the evening, Li Ze went to Luke Cage's bar for a drink. Listening to the hoarse and sad singing from the old record player, I thought of my parents, relatives, and friends in another world, and wondered how they were doing.

The events of the past few days have made Li Ze's emotions a little complicated, just like lying in bed tossing and turning in sleep the night before the fateful exam.

Expectation, nervousness, longing and a hint of melancholy. The curtain slowly rises, and the active, the passive, the righteous, and the evil will all stand on the stage.

There are countless supporting characters, but there is only one protagonist.

He drank the wine in the glass in one breath, raised the empty glass and said to the bartender Luke Cage:

"Honor the protagonist."

He walked away under Luke Cage's puzzled gaze.

Walking on the empty and dark streets, the night wind brought a bit of coolness, which calmed Li Ze's thoughts a lot.

The conversation between the gangsters in the bar just came to mind.

The Irish Glory Gang was finished, and so was Dane Luke. The entire gang was somehow weakened, and was swallowed whole by the Russian gang, including their skin and bones. Only Dane Luke and two of his henchmen escaped, and their lives and deaths are unknown.

But this has nothing to do with Li Ze. He no longer looks down on gangsters, so naturally he is not in the mood to trouble them.

Leave it to Ronin Hawkeye to vent his anger and kill for fun later.

After wandering aimlessly for a while, Li Ze suddenly stopped in front of a residential building, raised his head, and locked his eyes on a figure huddled on the fire escape.

Jessica Jones was sitting there with her back leaning against the handrail of the stairs, very unladylike. First, he took out a kettle from his backpack and unscrewed the lid. The unique pungent smell of strong liquor came out from inside.

He opened his mouth, took a sip of wine, closed his eyes and burped. She took out another camera from her backpack. This was the guy she was eating with.

Adjust your anxiety and aim at the opposite floor.

A woman was cooking when a man hugged her waist from behind. Um. Not this one.

A man put a high-heeled shoe under his nose, sniffing it intoxicatedly and greedily, and occasionally sticking out his tongue to lick it. Not this one either.

After searching for a long time, Jessica Jones finally saw what she wanted at a window, two black men and women hugging each other and dancing.

He pointed the camera at the two people, put his finger on the shutter, and was about to press it when a young man's voice came from behind him.

"Are you a private detective?"
