Chapter 21 Conflict

"Colson suffered multiple fractures, a slight concussion, and confusion."

When Li Jie came back to his senses, the surroundings were pitch black and he couldn't see his fingers. He opened his psychic vision and went out to scan around.

The location he was in should be a place similar to the interrogation room he had stayed in before. Nick was sitting opposite him through a glass, and there were rows and rows of armed agents outside the room.

He closed his psychic vision and knew that today's matter was not a big deal.

"Director," he said softly, "How is Coulson?"

"Didn't I just say it clearly enough?" Nick's voice came over, his tone cold, "Multiple fractures, slight concussion, confusion! Do you need me to repeat it again?"

Li Jie pursed his lips, reality.

Really, every time he thought he was doing well recently, reality would slap him in the face. It was like this in the past life, and it is like this now.

"It's not me" Li Jie said in a low voice.

"I can't believe you" Nick's words seemed to echo from all directions, "Colson was so seriously injured, but you were just unconscious? How many times has this happened?"

"Why does Coulson always get injured when he goes on missions with you?"

Li Jie's heart tightened, 'he' did it on purpose

"What happened at that time?" Li Jie asked in a low voice.

"You don't know?" Nick said, "Then let me tell you again, Coulson lost contact with you after entering the tavern. All signals and communications were interrupted, and the agents were waiting outside for almost an hour. Feeling uneasy, I organized a private operation and rushed into Hong Romantic."

"Anyone hurt?"

"Injured? Is it because you are injured?" Nick's voice was a bit sarcastic, "In the entire Red Romance, there is no one else except you and Colson, who will be hurt?"

Li Jie was stunned for a moment. The members of the Fifth Street Gang had moved?

He said anxiously: "It's not me, it's the skull totem!"

Nick was silent for a while, "Skull totem?"

"Before you came, he was just a totem. As soon as you came, he became a spirit! Every time it involves your actions, something will happen. How many times has Coulson had a brush with death in such a long time?"

"From the spontaneous combustion of the natives that injured the agents, to the Holy Land incident where Coulson and May were almost killed, and then to the red romance where Coulson was injured again. Why would something happen to your place?"

The lights in the room suddenly turned on, and Nick stared at Li Jie with a cold face.

"Give me an explanation! Who are you, where are you from, what are you for, and what are you going to do!"

"Stop fooling me with your clumsy lies. I'm not Coulson. He won't pursue it, but I will!"

Li Jie looked at Nick and smiled bitterly.

Before entering Red Romance, Coulson took an infrared imager to measure it. He clearly saw that there were people inside. Either he had teleported those people away, or it was an illusion.

'He' did it on purpose, deliberately waiting for him to call Coulson over; he also did it on purpose by beating Coulson away, just to put him in the difficult situation he is in now.

Li Jie suddenly felt a little lonely. In his heart, he regarded Coulson, May, and the SHIELD agents as friends and family. As a Marvel fan, he longed for this sense of belonging, like a drug addict. But this is how things developed. Nick kept staring at him, and Li Jie would never be able to integrate into the SHIELD organization. His arrival was too inexplicable and too sudden.

Except for a death report, the fact that there was no stain made Li Jie's whole body full of doubts. It is difficult for SHIELD to accept a person who jumped out of the cracks in the stone and is full of doubts.

He also knew in his heart that no one could be fooled by his original words. This is S.H.I.E.L.D., not Fairy Tales.

The reason why S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t pursue his lies that were full of loopholes was probably because they were trying to push the boat along with the current, just for show. I didn't show much interest in what he said. Keeping him is also better monitoring and control. Those harsh words are just a cover on the official stage. As long as no one pursues it, even if everyone tacitly agrees, no one will reveal it.

Li Jie originally thought that he could find companions in this world. But he forgot that he was a time traveler, an outsider, and a stowaway. This identity,
