Roca looked at the swimming pool under his feet and said.

"Well, winter swimming is very exciting, but every time you go into the water, you'd better take safety measures, be careful not to cause death, and don't forget that you are a millionaire."

Ed said.

Why does it sound like there is something in the words? Did Ed guess it? Roca shook his head, "Ed, don't worry about that, are you here?"

"Yes, the audition for "The Dark Knight" is over. Christian Bale has been selected as the male lead, and Heath Ledger is the second male lead. The crew invited you to play a policeman, do you want to accept?"

Ed asked.

"Did they still choose Heath Ledger?"

Rocca was a little regretful. He went back to Los Angeles a few days ago to audition for "The Dark Knight". His goal was to steal Heath Ledger's 'Joker' so that he would not be affected by the role.

Unfortunately it didn't work.

"I have been preparing for this role for more than a month, and I think I played it very well."

Roca said.

"The audition panel was said to be more pleased with Heath Ledger's performance."

"Okay, it's okay to play a cameo."

Rocca nodded and said.

Ed made a note, and the two chatted again about the arrangements for the Oscars.

Half a month ago, the shortlist for the Academy Awards was released.

Roca worked on three projects and received two nominations.

"The Departed" received five nominations, including best picture and best director.

"Little Miss Sunshine" won four nominations, Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.

Among them, three producers were nominated for best picture, he and Mr. Ross, and Ms. Valerie Faris.

In addition, "Tuner" was shortlisted for best live-action short film, and he and Billy got nominations.

"Rocca, of the two nominations, the best short film has a slightly higher chance."

Ed said.

Rocca shook his head, "No chance, this is a French film, and it won the best short film at the Cannes Film Festival. The Oscar judges will never admit that their taste is the same as Cannes, so I just went to join in the fun."

"Well, there are a lot of projects started recently, do you still want to accept the script?"

Ed asked.

Roca thought for a while, "I can pick up another one. "League of Assassins" will start in April, and it will take about three months. "Inglourious Basterds" will start in the second half of the year, and the time will be about the same. I can add another plug."

"Okay, I will find a few more scripts and let you choose."

"so be it!"

After chatting for a few words, Ed left and Rocca jumped into the pool.

At five o'clock in the afternoon the next day, the 79th Academy Awards ceremony was held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, and Roca came to the red carpet again in a handsome suit.

"No one will throw tomatoes today, will they?"

Rocca asked as he got out of the car.

"Probably not, but you should be careful, there are still many people in the United States who don't like you."

Tony laughed.

"Mr. Kelly, I brought a parasol, why don't you hold it?"

Annie took out an umbrella from her bag and said.

"Haha, this is a really good idea. If you add a lightning rod, it will definitely be safer."

Tony laughed.

"Shut up you guys, I'm going."

Rocca tidied up his clothes and strode onto the red carpet. Coincidentally, the person walking in front of him was Leonardo, who was nominated for Best Actor this year for his role in "Blood Diamond".

"Hi~ Leon!"

He waved his hand and strode over.

Seeing that it was him, Leonardo's face changed, and he ignored the cameraman's greeting, turned and walked into the Kodak Theater.

"This guy is too timid."

Rocca twitched the corner of his mouth.

"Rocca, do you have any conflicts with Leonardo? Why does he ignore you?"

A reporter shouted.

"Of course not. We have a good relationship, but he seems to be in a hurry. Maybe he needs to make things easier."

"Haha~"

After answering a few questions, Rocca left the interview area.

"Hey Roca!"

Ryan Gosling came up from behind.

"Ryan, congratulations!"

Rocca stopped and gave him a hug, and this time Ryan was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Half Nelson.

"Rocca also congratulates you for being nominated for producer and best short film director."

Ryan said.

"Thank you!"

As they embraced, photojournalists chirped and snapped.

After taking a few photos, the two continued on their way.
