The social structure of the Buddhist kingdom is extremely solidified.

It is strictly divided into five levels.

The lowest level and the largest number are ordinary people, known as "mustard people", who are the most numerous and lowest-status people.

They are engaged in the most humble occupations in the Buddhist country, such as farming, weaving, craftsmen, etc., ensuring the living needs of most ordinary people in the Buddhist country, but they themselves live the poorest life.

In this regard, the "mustard people" in the Buddhist kingdom have no complaints or regrets.

Because, in the Buddhist worldview, becoming a "mustard" in this life is the retribution of doing evil in the previous life.

The lowliness and hardships of this life are to pay for the sins of the previous life.

Although they are not even qualified to know what their previous lives were like, but they have been indoctrinated with such thoughts since childhood, so they settle down in poverty.

As "mustard people", they have only one hope to change their lives.

That is to get the attention of Buddha, Bodhisattva, Arhat and other "right fruit" people, so that these right fruit people can wash away their past sins with the Dharma.

Only in this way can they jump to the next level in this life.

To become a so-called "civilian" has the right to earn money through one's own labor, and will be protected by law if violated.

Moreover, "commoners" can also buy various things produced by "mustards" at extremely low prices, and even buy "mustards" themselves.

Of course, this is not called buying slaves in the Buddhist kingdom, but is considered to be helping the "mustard people" repay the sins of their previous lives, which is something worthy of praise.

There is one important point in the power of the common people. People of this level of Buddhism have the qualifications to support the "right fruit".

The so-called "offering" is to invite Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats and other fruitful people back to their homes, and offer most of the meals in their homes to them.

And burn incense to serve every day, meticulous.

If you meet a "real fruit" who cultivates the way of happiness, you should provide your wife, daughter, sister, and even mother to the real fruit to help them practice.

If things go on like this, there will be some chances to be favored by those who have achieved true fruition, and will be bestowed with Buddhist scriptures by those who have achieved true fruition.

Once they are given Buddhist scriptures, they will no longer be ordinary civilians, but will become "laymen". In Buddhist countries, this refers to monks who have not yet obtained the qualifications to become monks.

Laymen have privileges, they can do nothing about production, they can get the necessities of life from the "mustard people" free of charge, and they can enjoy everything that any "civilian" has at will.

If they are lay Buddhists who have been given sutras by Bodhisattvas or even Buddhas, they can still disobey the law. No one can punish them except the Buddhas or Bodhisattvas who gave them sutras.

Further up are the monks who have really obtained the qualifications to practice as monks. They will be taught the methods of practice by Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats and other righteous people.
