Heavenly Opposers

A creeping silence filled the whole place. Adria and Azrail's eyes met on a rough patch, the two of them gazing into each other's eyes. The words that Azrail spoke were disrespectful to Adria. The call towards her past now, a sense of dishonor, isn't good at all. Not to mention, in terms of power and status, Adria is indeed someone of untold status.

It would be similar to a little kid calling up to her 40-year-old teacher and telling him to find where the kid hid the cookie—a call that, depending on the perspective, would either look cute or very arrogant from the eyes of a child that hasn't seen the world at all. The situation now brimming between Adria and Azrail can be said to be the latter if one were to look at it through unbiased eyes.

The growing tension seemed to have reached its peak as Adria muttered, "Fine, it was my fault anyway. I was too careless to ask another their secret when it's just a stupid question."

Adria's words just lightly surprised Azrail. He was already expecting the situation to unfold in a similar manner. To Adria, he is an enigma, and from what Adria must have gathered till now, someone protected him in the level of aspects that exist above all. She isn't going out of her way to mess with Azrail, not when he seems to be the ticket to achieving Adria's long dream.

'Yet even then she will try to find everything she can about me. The little call I made has affected her pride, thus she will strive in the dark to get me.'

Azrail didn't throw those words at Adria to just piss her off. Each word he articulated to her has a deeper meaning to get her to move. Sure, manipulating a person like Adria seems close to impossible, and in a way, it is. But as established, Azrail didn't go out of his way to heal Adria's soul purely out of the good of his heart.

In terms of soul control and playing with it, there is no one in the cosmos who will be able to go against the current him. If Adria is to play at the fact that he is someone with some good control of souls, then she is far too naive to think so. The moment Adria has allowed Azrail to enter her soul and 'help' her, in a way, her fate was sealed.

Every step Azrail took to get there was fully planned. Azrail could have asked Adria to do this back at the mansion to have Adria provide the information to his family, making it a much better situation and timing. But he didn't because he wanted the ultimate surprise flowing through Adria when he asked so.

The repetitive hits from coming to this place, knowing what it is, seeing the infamous mad scientist as his slave, showing off his power over soul and mind, and then finally asking Adria to help pass the information to his family, this is all to keep her mind busy such that the flow wouldn't have been interrupted.

As said before, after gaining the blessing of Death, there is nothing much a soul can hide from him. To Azrail, the soul tells a story, and Adria's soul tells him a beautiful story. The pieces she had put together in the past had only mended her soul in a way. She was similar to him, one that overcame despair.

Thus, even before, there existed imperfections in her soul, which sadly and unknowingly to Adria, only seemed to have worsened after she became a pure soul leeching off Valencia. Thus, the same emotional maturity and control over emotions, whatever little that she had left before, are no longer as perfect as they are.

Thus, when shock and shock came to Adria, it gave the opening that Azrail needed. Unlike others out there fully encased in a body, for Adria, her whole soul itself is the conductor of her emotions, making it such that her whole set of emotions is a mess. If one small thing happens, the surprise she feels will be 10 times stronger than what others feel.

And the truly funny thing here is the fact that Adria herself hasn't come to understand it. She knew of the little problems in her soul long ago, but she doesn't know what's happening to her soul right now due to her just being present as a soul. As said, there is no one better than Azrail right now to see and understand the soul.

Thus, ever since Azrail has regained her true self, he had aimed for Adria. In the beginning, he just wanted her full loyalty and control over her, and for that, he planned this all extensively. Each word and action he spoke led Adria towards accepting his 'help' to make it such that she would be able to send information to his family.

The shock after shock with the 10 times multiplier being that when the situation came, Adria didn't move to think deeper into it, for she knows Azrail is too mysterious, and the best thing to always do when faced with someone that deals with death is to always protect your soul. But the heat of the moment didn't let Adria take it.

If it was before, Adria wouldn't even hesitate twice to just say no to him. It's just plain stupid. But as Azrail said so, Adria is feeling things at 10 times the strength. Thus, within this new realm, Adria starts to deal with emotions, her emotions going out of her way to show that since Azrail is Valencia's lover, would he harm her at all?

In her cold-blooded mind, she would have seen and gone through several scenarios to know that people like them who have overcome their broken selves, even when repaired, would be very cunning to let things just flow. But she couldn't see it, for Azrail fully showed himself as a 'family' kid.

Each word he represented moved towards showing off Azrail as a family guy who won't hurt his family, and subtly during his words, he would indicate that Adria is his family too. All these small words kept increasing certain feelings of attachment within Adria's soul.

After having come back to his real self, Azrail kept an eye on Adria, and he could see the changes taking place within her soul. With her emotions being let loose, the things she should have focused more on, the connections she should have kept close, and those regretful things she left behind had slowly begun to bloom within Adria's self.

Adria would believe that the surprise is bringing her out, but it's not fully true. It's the sense of her feelings now truly having 10 times effect, thus showing her towards the regrets that are blooming beautifully. And Azrail kept an eye on it, for he knew for someone like Adria, it wouldn't take long for her to reach her own enlightenment.

And above all that, Azrail has read a lot about Valencia's journey, at least till the parts the book ended. In those, there were the great descriptions of how this fully cold-blooded woman had changed toward a very sunny shine, being the Moon elf that shines light within the darkest times for others, basically becoming much kinder and accepting.

Thus, Azrail knew that she was at her phase of trying to be more accepting, coming to understand that she should let more people in and be more connected. Thus, Azrail took advantage of that to spell his family words and nonsense, to get Adria to be more accepting of him. That, along with the surprises, her 10 times feelings, the new discoveries, all went forth to Adria suddenly going with the flow to let Azrail heal her soul.

And that's where she made her first mistake. The moment he had seen her face, Azrail had decided to make her his. He can't do that now, but he has already placed the seed of that deep within her soul. And when it's right and ripe, this beautiful woman that terrorized the powerful will helplessly fall for him, plus he has helped too.
