Drilling fluid passes through the inner hole of the drill pipe to the water hole of the drill bit, and then returns to the ground from the annular space between the well wall and the drill string. The drilling process is the process in which the drill bit breaks the rock and the drilling fluid circulates to continuously carry out cuttings and form a wellbore.

After drilling to the designed depth, a special instrument should be lowered into the wellbore for logging operation, the purpose is to determine the downhole formation lithology and the position of each oil, gas and water layer, and then lower the seamless steel pipe ( Also known as casing), and inject cement slurry into the annular space between the casing and the well wall to fix the casing on the well wall.

The depth of the well has reached the ideal position, and it is unnecessary to continue drilling. The workers started to start the drilling rig and withdraw the drill pipe from the wellbore.

The long drill pipes were pulled out one by one, and after they were all pulled out, what appeared in front of everyone was a dark, vertically downward wellbore.

When the formation pressure of oil and gas is high, it can flow out of the ground by itself. This kind of well is called self-flowing oil well.
