Datang tried his best to launch the Western Expedition.

But the Human Revolutionary Union is cleaning up the mess.

The Wagang Army and Youzhou Army created as many as 6.47 million victims.

In addition, there are 3.26 million people on the territory of the Young Marshal Army, 4.83 million people on the territory of Xia Kingdom, 260,000 people on the territory of Yu Wenhua and 550,000 people on the territory of Wang Shichong.

The total population is 15.94 million, and there are also many people who have fled to the deep mountains and forests to hide.

Fortunately, this year, Guangnan Prefecture, Lingnan Prefecture, Southeast Prefecture, Liuqiu Prefecture, and Jiangdong Prefecture have bumper harvests, and grain companies have stockpiled 5.37 million tons of grain.

And Xia Guo and the Young Marshal Army also left a lot of food and supplies, and the more than 6 million victims of the disaster were still able to carry it.

After the construction of the Xianggui Lingqu Canal, Jiangxi-Guangdong Canal, and Zhejiang-Jiangxi Canal, the Pearl River Basin, Yangtze River Basin, Huaihe River Basin, and Yellow River Basin were completely connected.

At present, the smallest ships passing through the canals have reached the hundred-ton class. In the classical era, this was the existence of super railways.

After all, war horses can only advance 70-80 kilometers a day in areas with flat terrain. If they march by force, they can barely reach 170-180 kilometers a day, but it is difficult to maintain it for three days.

The speed of the canal can reach 7 to 10 knots when the wind is smooth and the water is smooth, and it can travel about 140 to 220 kilometers a day.

Even against the wind and the current, it can barely reach 3-5 knots.

What's more, with the popularity of steamships, the transportation speed of the canal is gradually increasing.

Compared with horse-drawn carriages that can only transport 2.5 to 3 tons at most, the inland river cement ships with huge displacement can transport hundreds of tons at a time. Even cement ships with a displacement of 100 tons have a load capacity of about 70 tons.

Therefore, the construction of canals in ancient times was not a great success, but a very necessary strategy, especially for the Jianghuai area and Jiangnan area where the water network is densely covered, it is a sharp weapon to strengthen the rule.

In the face of refugees from all over the north, Baiyulou quickly mobilized hundreds of thousands of tons of food and launched a large number of projects, among which the dredging of the Grand Canal was the core project.

It's just that Baiyulou stood on Luoyang City, and Song Que and others looked at the mighty water of the Yellow River, but fell into deep thought.

The Yellow River, the mother river, is not a gentle old mother,

But a shrew with unpredictable temper.

Compared with Song Que and others, Bai Yulou understands the violent temper of the Yellow River better. The current course of the Yellow River was dredged during the Western Han Dynasty.

But with the passage of time, the sediment in the Yellow River channel kept accumulating, and the aboveground river downstream has become very obvious.

The situation of the river on the ground can easily lead to the breach of the river embankment.

Especially during the period of communication between the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the officials basically lost the ability to maintain the river, and the flooding of the Yellow River became more and more serious.

After all, two breakthroughs in three years, and one diversion in a hundred years is not a joke.

Tang Feilin, who hurried over from Jiangnan by airship, had already come up with a plan for harnessing the Yellow River.

Tang Feilin led the crowd to the huge sand table room.

To eradicate the Yellow River, there is only one plan: divert the course, return farmland, and build lakes.

He pointed to the mouth of the Yellow River from Luoyang to Bohai Bay, and then pointed to the middle and northern sections of the Grand Canal in the Sui Dynasty.

Take a small flag and plant it in Juyeze in Lu County, Daluze in Qinghe County, Douzi Lake between Pingyuan County and Bohai County.

This is the great lake of the North China Plain in this era.

Among them, Daluze Lake has an area of about 900 square kilometers, Douzi Lake has an area of about 900 square kilometers, and Juyeze has an area of about 1,500 square kilometers.

The existence of these lakes is crucial to the ecology of the lower reaches of the Yellow River and the North China Plain.

Converting farmland to the lake can only curb the accelerated shrinkage of the lake, but the sediment in the middle reaches of the Yellow River is the big trouble. Bai Yulou reminded.

Tang Feilin naturally knew the key: This is the diversion part of my plan.

He turned his attention to the several-shaped area in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River, drawing a northward river course from the middle of the Yinshan Mountains on the sand table.

Song Que asked in surprise, Is there really such a huge gap in the middle of the Yin Mountain?

Tang Feilin nodded: Yes, Yinshan is divided into Dongyinshan and Xiyinshan (Wolf Mountain), and there is a flat valley in the middle, with a width of 18-30 kilometers from east to west, and a length of 40-45 kilometers from north to south, with an average length of 1000-1500 meters. , is at the same level as the height of the Yellow River in the Hetao Plain.

I plan to dig a guide canal, and then use the flood of the Yellow River to block the Yellow River channel, raise the water level of the Hetao Plain, and then rush the river northward to lead the Yellow River into the desert.

Only now did Song Que discover that there were a series of lowlands in the desert between Monan and Mobei.

The average altitude of the Hanhai lowland is about 500-1,000 meters, which is several hundred meters lower than the Hetao Plain, and it is only 150-160 kilometers away from the Hetao channel of the Yellow River. As long as a river rushes out, the water in the upper reaches of the Yellow River can be diverted. Part of it goes to the vast sea.

Song Que was still a little worried: Tang Department, if the Yellow River is diverted from the upper reaches, will there be water shortages in the middle and lower reaches?

This is the second part of my plan, building a lake.

Tang Feilin pointed to the land of Qin and Jin. The Yellow River divides the two lands into two. This is also the area where the most serious soil erosion occurs.

On the high loess slopes of the Qin land, dams were built to intercept the river water flowing into the Yellow River, and then the entire high loess slopes were converted to forests and grasslands. Only forest farms and pastures were used here, and farming activities were reduced.

The old course of the Yellow River in the Qin-Jin section has been transformed into a stepped reservoir, and it is no longer used as a conventional river. In the lower reaches of the Yellow River, only the Wei River and the Fen River are left as the upper reaches, and the Qin-Jin stepped reservoir is only used for seasonal water regulation.

In this way, without the sediment input from the Qin and Jin Dynasties, the sediment concentration in the lower reaches of the Yellow River will decrease rapidly. Then, low-lying areas on the lower plains will be selected as flood discharge lakes. I plan to designate 10 to 20 lake areas. Most of the water flow in the lower reaches of the Yellow River remains.

Obviously this plan is insane.

It is like dismembering the Yellow River, with the upper, middle and lower reaches being separated.

Of course, judging from the flow of the Yellow River at this time, this project is still feasible.

If it is the situation of water shortage everywhere in the later generations, let alone changing the road to Monan, there will not be enough water everywhere along the way, and the river water will be blocked everywhere, and the lower reaches of the Yellow River will almost stop flowing.

During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the annual flow of the Yellow River was about 80 to 100 billion cubic meters, with about 20 billion cubic meters intercepted in the upper reaches; about 20 billion cubic meters intercepted in the middle reaches of the Qin and Jin Dynasties; and 40 to 60 billion cubic meters left in the downstream.

Then through a large number of lake areas, 30 billion cubic meters of water will be left in the Guanzhong Plain and the North China Plain, and the rest will flow into the Bohai Sea.

Due to the closure of the upstream and middle reaches, the sediment concentration of the downstream river water is reduced. In this way, the above-ground river can be contained, and the filling speed of the Bohai Sea will also be slowed down by dozens of times.

Moreover, the existence of Qinjin stepped reservoirs is not only good for the coastal areas of Qinjin, but also useful for relieving water shortages in the upstream and downstream.

If the rainfall in the downstream is soaring due to extreme weather, it can also be adjusted through various parts.

According to Tang Feilin's design, the existence of the Qinjin Ladder Reservoir is the core of regulating the entire watershed. Whether it is blocking water into the desert or releasing water to the south, it is very important.

By the way, this project is the Lifetime series, right? Bai Yulou complained.

Tang Feilin shrugged: No, because the ladder reservoir was built last. The first phase of the Great Lakes plan and the second phase of the Northward Advance plan do not require the construction of large dams, only the third phase of the ladder plan. Build a series of dams.

Bai Yulou picked up another plan and said with cold sweat on his forehead:

But what the hell is this vast sea plan?

Tang Feilin waved his hand indifferently: It will be used in the future. After all, the annual flow of black water is 300 to 400 billion cubic meters, which is equivalent to 3 to 5 Yellow Rivers. I plan to intercept part of the flow and use it to build the Hanhai Canal.

From the topography point of view, the Hanhai lowland and the Hulunbeier prairie in the upper reaches of Heishui are at the same altitude, and there is indeed the possibility of leading the black into the desert.

It's just that the amount of this project is a little touching!

Bai Yulou hadn't had time to complain.

Tang Feilin continued to talk to himself again, as if he was planning to divert part of the river from the Beihai Lake on Xianbelia into the Blackwater, and then increase the amount of water upstream of the Blackwater.

Song Que, who was at the side, almost lost his mind.

Just now he was lamenting the unrestrained nature of the Yellow River Project, but now it seems that he underestimated Tang Feilin's wide-ranging brain.

Song Que also thought of Li Tang who was still entrenched in Guanzhong, and the Eastern Turks in Mobei. Obviously, Tang Feilin and others didn't take these forces seriously, and even the planning map came out directly.

However, Tang Feilin's initial plan for the Great Lakes was not difficult. After all, as long as the farmland and relocation were completed, the Yellow River could be used to infuse these lakes. These lakes are still very easy to transform.
