Snake Marsh Ghost Town (Part 2) Chapter 12 Wen Jin’s Notes (Part 2)
September 6, 1990
Today, Wang's theory of relativity encountered a problem. In Wang Zanghai's last mural, we found this paragraph:
(The following is a sketch, which is roughly a copy of the mural. When I saw this, I remembered the things that looked like children’s sketches that I saw when turning over the table. It turned out that they were copied from the mural.
It is difficult to describe the content of the sketch, because the painting is very poor. I can only roughly make out that it seems to be a scene of a dignitary bidding farewell to another person. The background is a large palace gate with camels neatly lined up around it. Animals like horses are of course painted exactly like dogs and rats. I am familiar with ancient landscape paintings and animal paintings, and I have received strict training in this area of knowledge, so from the brushstrokes and shapes, I can guess that these strange-shaped animals should actually be horses or camels. There are groups of waiters behind the palace gate, forming a procession of ceremonial guards. It can be seen that the painting depicts a rather grand scene.
After that, there were two or three pages full of paintings. I was not interested, so I skipped them all and went straight to the content behind them. )
These murals probably happened after Wang Zanghai turned sixty-eight, when he had completed his last project. The content of these murals probably means that he accepted the emperor's order and set out for a place, similar to going out. enable other countries to engage in such activities. The composition of this mural is obviously imitated from those Tang Dynasty murals when Xuanzang went to the Western Regions in the Tang Dynasty. It is very strange. However, we searched all the porcelain and never found any porcelain paintings comparable to this.
Some people say that this may be his last experience and that he has no architectural works to compare with. However, some people insist that people like Wang Zanghai will not have such exceptions. If there is no corresponding porcelain painting, there may be some special meaning or reason. Perhaps his work was engraved by him somewhere else.
Indeed, I continued to research later. I found that Wang Zanghai's last few years were very mysterious, and there was no historical data left at all. It can be said that the last period of his life was blank.
Where was he and what did he do during those years? this is a big problem.
December 6, 1990
In the past few months, we have been investigating Wang Zanghai's whereabouts in the last few years, and finally we have clues. We found that after the final project, Wang Zanghai accompanied the emperor on a mountain worship event in Changbai Mountain, and there was no written record after that.
Changbai Mountain, could it be said that he went into the mountains? We highly doubt it.
December 7, 1990
No way to check here. We changed direction,
Starting from the emperor, there are detailed records of missions and ceremonies in the Ming Dynasty. We want to find the ceremony depicted in Wang Zanghai's murals, or records of his missions to other countries.
The results are very surprising. We found that there were seven grand ceremonies in the two years before the emperor's death. Six of them were normal, but one was very strange. The record is very simple, without any side notes:
In the 29th year of Hongwu, there were forty-six guards, twelve scholars, one hundred and twenty-six horses, ten dou of pearls, thirty kilograms of gold, etc., to make Tamutuo.
The grand ceremony and the mission, these are the only two records with complete conditions. However, this record does not record the officials who were sent as the mission at that time. But the most surprising thing is, where is Tamutuo?
Is it a country? There is no record in official history. But it is very likely that it was around the Ming Dynasty. Southeast Asia and the Western Regions. There are countless small countries, maybe this is one of them. However, it is a bit strange that Wang Zanghai went to communicate with a small country as an envoy. His age is not suitable for such a long journey.
February 11, 1991
The investigation continued, during which we had two discussions.
(There are ten pages of nonsense in the middle, which are all discussions and speculations, but they were all proven wrong later, so they were deleted.)
Because the history of the Ming Dynasty experienced a catastrophe in the Qing Dynasty, it was very difficult to investigate this time, and there was no result for a long time. Later, a problem was solved by changing the angle of investigation. We compared the things carried by the envoy Tamutuo and found that the types of gifts indicated that this should be a country in the Western Regions, and the number of gifts seemed to be very small. However, there were so many horses that it looked more like a caravan than an envoy team.
March 6, 1991
There are no clues at all, no breakthrough can be found, research has stalled, and everyone is in a bad mood.
This is the first paragraph. Obviously, there should be content in the front of this paragraph, but there are no signs of torn pages in the front. It seems that this should not be a separate notebook, but a series of notebooks. One.
The content described in the first paragraph is a process in which they were conducting research on Wang Zanghai, discovering Talmudu, then studying Talmudu, and finally the research stagnated. A lot of things can be seen from this paragraph. They are studying the murals and porcelain in the undersea tombs. Moreover, the research seems to be very orthodox and systematic, and it is a classic archaeological process (the process of checking information seems to be very formal). It is boring, but it is the main way of daily research for archaeologists. Archeology is digging-repairing-investigating). But when Third Uncle and the others went there, it was impossible to have such conditions. Wang Zanghai's tomb was so big, and how long would it take just a few people to work to record everything in the tomb? So when did they do this work?
This was a big clue, but I didn’t have time to think about it, so I continued reading. At that time, I thought that this process would continue later. However, after the period on March 6, 1991, a phenomenon occurred that puzzled me.
After this paragraph, there are about six pages of content, which are all statements about collecting data, so I will skip them. After scrolling through, the time in the next section of the work diary jumped to January 19, 1993.
Then, if you look at the recorded content, you will find that it is quite different from the previous ones. The content of this paragraph is from January 19, 1993, to February 8, 1995. The time span is longer than the previous paragraph. However, there are not many things that can be recorded. The content is as follows:
On January 19, 1993, the last discussion was held. Things became clear for Wang Zanghai. It seems that his trip to Tamutuo is indeed related to the emperor's sacrifice to Changbai Mountain. He should have returned to Yunding Heavenly Palace, after that. Then set off for Tamutuo. This Tamuduo must be related to the situation in Changbai Mountain.
On April 18, 1993, we sorted out three routes to Yunding Tiangong from the murals, and decided to go to Changbai Mountain to find out.
On May 30, 1993, entering the Changbai Mountain range, the weather was very bad.
(After that, there are about a dozen pages of travel records like an adventure novel. It is similar to the content of our entry into Genting. Until after we enter.)
On June 15, 1993, contact with them was lost. The two of us moved on.
On June 17, 1993, we arrived at the bottom of the Heavenly Palace. The situation was very bad. Others might be in trouble. We had no time to hesitate. We decided to enter the bronze door to see what was inside.
On June 18, 1993, it seemed that I saw the ultimate!
(It stopped after this point, without any content. The next entry in the diary will be the last paragraph. Apparently she has not recorded anything for nearly a year and a half.)
The last record is that on February 8, 1995, we started planning to search for Tamutuo. What is going on here, I have to figure it out.
This is Part Two, which is about thirty pages in total at this point. It is very obvious that there is a gap of several years between Part One and Part Two. In this second part, they started their journey to the Genting Heavenly Palace. When I saw this, a question in my mind became clear. It seems that in the Genting Heavenly Palace, people died in a pile of gold. It should be their group, and look at what they carry. We Wen Jin is talking about here should be the group of people in Xisha.
in this case. They don't seem to have any other special difficulties, and they seem to be living quite comfortably? But these are secondary. What shocked me the most was that obviously Wen Jin also discovered the bronze door, and she also entered it.
I saw the ultimate! I broke out in a cold sweat when I saw this. I thought to myself, what does this mean? What does this ultimate represent?
Looking at the recorded time, she didn't keep any diary for almost a year and a half after she entered. This is inconsistent with her character. I feel that it is very possible that she saw something in the bronze door, so she was too shocked to think about any notes.
Throughout the second part, the biggest feeling that gave me was that the Tamuduo should have a great relationship with the Bronze Gate. After Wen Jin entered the Bronze Gate, he came up with the idea of looking for this Tamutuo.
After that, comes the third part. This part is very long, but the time span is very short, from February 8, 1995 to June 8, 1995. Among them, there is only one paragraph worth mentioning.
February 8, 1995
Based on the dragon vein map, we have been able to determine the location of Tamutuo. We are about to conduct an exploration. We hope that during this exploration, we can find the answers to the series of mysteries. To be honest, I really didn't expect that there were so many things behind this. If what I saw in the bronze door was true, then this whole thing would be terrible.
After that, it was all about them going to the place called Tamutuo. Looking at the description above, this Tamutuo should be an oasis in the Gobi. Wen Jin followed a camel team, and at the beginning of 1995 Starting from Dunhuang, we went deep into the Qaidam Basin and embarked on this journey.
They were led into the Gobi by a female guide named Dingzhu Dolma. Then at a rocky mountain, they broke up with her and entered this place called Tamutuo. It seemed to be very dangerous in that oasis. Many people died along the way. I also saw many dangerous signs marked on the route map in my notes. Eventually they reached Tamuta, but she had a disagreement with another person and ended up returning without going any further.
I read it very quickly without looking carefully. After these contents, there was a blank with no content. This part is about thirty pages long, very detailed, with a lot of route maps and descriptions of equipment defects, weather, etc.
In the entire notebook, there is no mention of how they obtained the information or how they investigated. There is no mention of anything about the disappearance of Xisha and the others, nor of what happened in the sanatorium. All the information in it is related to this Tamutuo. Almost half of the page is an analysis of the things left by Wang Zanghai Tiemensheng, and found a connection to the Tamutuo. Moreover, what makes me feel very concerned is that these three paragraphs have obvious breaks in the middle. It feels like the notes have been stapled or recopied.
I pulled open the gaps between the pages and found that there was no trace of rebinding or tearing the pages. This was a complete notebook. That is to say, this notebook may have been copied by Wen Jin again. She seemed to have selected the contents of several notebooks about Tamuduo, copied them, and gathered them into one notebook.
Why would she do this? This is another incredible thing. Why do these people always do things so mysteriously? Could it be that there was something in the other contents of the note that she didn't want others to know?
Moreover, looking at this note, I have an obvious feeling that it seems that it wants me to know that the place Tamutuo is very important, and it seems that it wants me to go to that place.
There were so many questions in my mind that I couldn't figure it out at once. I rubbed my temples and turned the notes to the beginning, ready to read from the beginning carefully to see if I could get any clues after careful consideration. However, at this time, the lighter in front of him had dimmed. The flames had shrunk, and the light was quite dim.
I remembered that the lighter had been used for a long time and might be about to expire, so I wanted to light the newspapers and the drawer to make a bonfire, so that I would not be in the dark after a while when the lighter could not be lit. So I stood up with a lighter and stretched my muscles.
At this moment, I felt something was not right, something was different here. I simply raised the lighter to see if it was an illusion. It's a good thing that I didn't look at it. It almost didn't scare me to death. On the other side of the table, I don't know when a person appeared. This person was sitting on the chair I was sitting on just now, looking at the mirror. Combing hair.
